NC PRIDE

- What: Hang out in the grass, make posters, show off your spirit, and meet new people. Ice breakers and donuts provided! Parade march starts at 1pm. Come for as little or as much as you'd like.

- When: Sunday, September 25, 2016 - 2pm - 4pm
- Where: South Park & Jeff Wells Environment Greenway
- What: Walk and join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. Thanks to Walkers and Donors, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.

- Where: Fuquay-Varina High School
- What: On the first Monday of every October kids, teens and adults to participate in Blue Shirt Day - World Day of Bullying Prevention by wearing a blue shirt. It's a time when we ask everyone to wear a blue shirt and join us in solidarity to stop bullying and cyberbullying.

- What: Individuals, schools, communities, and businesses wear or display orange to show support for students who have been bullied.

Transgender Day of Remembrance
- What: November is National Native American Heritage month. What better way to celebrate it than to sample the culture and explore the history of some groups within the 4.3 million people who identify themselves as Native American in the United States?
National Homeless Youth Awareness Month
- What: As many as 2.5 million youth per year experience homelessness (The National Center on Family Homelessness). Along with losing their home, community, friends, and routines as well as their sense of stability and safety, many homeless youth are also victims of trauma. While trying to survive on the streets, youth are exposed to countless dangers, with an increased likelihood of substance abuse, early parenthood, impulsivity, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, and a vulnerability to being trafficked.
Transgender Awareness Week
- When: November 14, 2016 - November 20, 2016
- Where: Everywhere
- What: An opportunity for students, educators and community members to increase visibility of the transgender community and to raise awareness of the experiences of transgender and gender nonconforming students, who often face hostile school environments.

Transgender Day of Remembrance
- When: Sunday, November 20, 2016
- Where: Everywhere
- What: This is a day to memorialize those whose lives were lost due to anti-transgender fear, bigotry and hatred. Around the world, communities have planned vigils to come together and remember those who have died in the past year.
